The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Northern Nevada is a member of the Interfaith Hospitality Network in Reno, helping to house homeless families on a regular basis. Here is some more information on Family Promise - Interfaith Hospitality Network:

• Through a coordinated effort of more than 25 congregations from various faith groups and denominations throughout the Reno/Sparks area, families are provided with evening meals and private sleeping space.
  
  

• Volunteers eat dinner, interact and even stay the night with the families in the IHN program allowing volunteers to learn from families, and families to learn from volunteers.
  

• The Family Promise Day Center acts as a home base. Adults can use the phone, computer, internet and address to apply for work.  Children use the address to enroll in school.
  

• All adults are required to become full time employed
  

• All children are required to attend school.
  

• The day center also serves as office space for the Executive  Director, Case Manager and Administrative/Guest Assistant.
  

• Laundry and shower facilities are available at the family day center as well as space for personal belongings.
  

• Our van provides transportation to and from the hosting  congregations.
  

• Adults are required to develop, with their Case Manager, a savings plan which will allow enough for first, last and a deposit to be saved on a permanent living environment.
  

• Families also receive budgeting classes, parenting classes, art  classes, services from volunteering Faith Community nurses and other necessary skills building classes.
